Living room furniture is much more expensive than I thought, so that may not get replaced until next year (if ever, because I really have to start putting this energy into my own place - I’m turning 30 next year after all). Next up, I want to stain the coffee table and end table, and replace the front door to make it easier to open and close. The paint came from Kelly’s, the TV stand (which is actually a dresser) came from the furniture store on Robinson Road next to We Buy, You Sell for only $400. Pull the yarn as tight as you can, without breaking the yarn. Tie the yarn once, then wrap the ends around to the other side and tie a double knot. We’re still trying to figure out where to put it because it’s so big, but it was so gorgeous I just couldn’t leave it behind. When all the edges are snipped, cut a length of yarn and tie it around the middle of the pom-pom, close to the cardboard ring. Tie the two ends together in a reef knot left over right and under, right over left then. With Red Heart Super Saver, work a round of single crochet around the outside edge of the rug pad, trimming off any little squares that want to poke through. Trim excess rug pad if desired, leaving at least a ½ inch from the cut edge. The thing behind the TV stand is a mirror. If you want a round pom pom rug, mark it out with a pen first. Adding a Nice Edge: Turn to work from the Right Side (pom side) of the rug. There’s still so much more to do, but I’m really proud of what I’ve managed to do thus far. Once you have done this, it is simply a matter of tying the two ends together underneath the rug pad. Keep them relatively close together as you do this. This is exactly what my living room needed! Check out these before and after photos of the entire living room! Starting with the first one in the corner of the rug, take the long ends of the yarn that you used to tie off the pom pom and push them through the mesh of the rug pad. It's a great height off the ground and feels like a grand chair that doesn't take up much space at all. It's not soft at first, but once you sit in it for at least 5 minutes, you'll feel it begin to soften. This was my dream chair!!!!!! I wanted an electric blue chair and although the description says navy, this blue pops so nicely! I loooooooooove my chair! I was upset when the price increased from $160 to $235 but I just had to have it. So in addition to the rug, I painted the living room, got rid of the entertainment centre and replaced it with a sleek design, and I replaced the old lazyboy with the chair of my dreams from Wayfair! That chair was one of the biggest struggles I’ve ever encountered (more on that later). The furniture is old, ripped and torn, and the walls were an ugly green. Tighten the yarn wrapped around the middle and slide the yarn off the rolls. Wrap one end of the yarn around the middle part of the yarn in between the cardboard rolls. Even though I should be getting ready to move out, I just couldn’t take my mum’s constant disappoint in the living room. Wrap yarn around the rolls until you reach the desired thickness.
